About the Practice
A relational practice, grounded in Alberta, devoted to justice reform.
Kikiwin Inc. is founded and led by Hali Fitzpatrick, an Indigenous consultant devoted to Gladue report writing that is rigorous, trauma-informed, and grounded in community knowledge. Each report is crafted with care, precision, and cultural integrity.
We work alongside Indigenous organizations, justice programs, and families with respect and patience. Interviews are conducted relationally. Research is thorough. Recommendations are practical, community-aligned, and designed to support long-term change.

No. A Gladue Report is context, not an excuse. It supports the court in making informed, balanced decisions by naming the realities Indigenous people face and the pathways that support accountability and long-term change.
Interviews are relational, patient, and trauma-informed. We meet with the individual, family members, and community supports in a manner that honours safety, cultural protocols, and the pace each person needs.
Timelines vary based on complexity and access to family and community. Most reports are completed within six to twelve weeks of retainer. We work closely with counsel and the court on scheduling.
Defence counsel, Crown, the court, and Indigenous justice programs may retain Kikiwin Inc. Families and individuals are welcome to reach out for guidance on the process.
